CityLights

The first pictures for “CityLights” were created in January 2005 in Venice. The idea to form a steadily expanding collection was born during a visit in May 2005 and after inspiring discussions with my American friend Leslie G. Hunt. His city-cycles have been a continual element of his work for the last 25 years.

Down to the present day, the project contains Paris, Frankfurt, Barcelona, New York, London, Taipei and Tokio

J.M. Turner’s paintings have been an inspiration and role model for the series of the Venice 2006 daylight pictures, as well as for the London city-cycle. The painting of the 19th century determines the next photo locations: water lilies in Giverny and sunflowers in the Provence.
